Documents Barton's service on two steamers that were part of the U.S. Navy's Mississippi Squadron, first on the EXCHANGE and later, after having been wounded in June 1864, on the VINDICATOR. Contains lists of ordnance stores expended, received, and transferred to the VINDICATOR; inventories of materiel on the VINDICATOR; and copies of letters related to military supplies and to his military career.
